Manuscript Preparation

Manuscript Preparation

Authors are encouraged to prepare manuscripts clearly and systematically before submission to the Journal of Intelligent Computing and Connected Systems (JICCS). A well-structured manuscript helps reviewers and readers understand the research methodology, results, and contribution.

1. General Formatting

Manuscripts should be prepared in a clear and consistent academic format.

Authors should ensure that:

  • The manuscript is written in clear and understandable English.
  • The text is organized into appropriate sections and subsections.
  • Pages are numbered consistently.
  • Headings and subheadings are clearly identified.
  • Figures and tables are placed appropriately within the manuscript.
  • All sources and references are properly cited.

2. Recommended Manuscript Structure

A typical research manuscript should contain the following sections:

  1. Title
  2. Author Information
  3. Abstract
  4. Keywords
  5. Introduction
  6. Related Work / Literature Review
  7. Methodology
  8. Results
  9. Discussion
  10. Conclusion
  11. Acknowledgements (if applicable)
  12. Funding Information (if applicable)
  13. Conflict of Interest Statement
  14. Data Availability Statement (if applicable)
  15. References

The structure may be modified when appropriate for review articles, technical studies, or other types of contributions.

3. Title

The title should clearly describe the subject of the manuscript.

Authors should:

  • Keep the title concise and informative.
  • Avoid unnecessary abbreviations.
  • Clearly reflect the main research topic.
  • Avoid excessive technical terminology where possible.

4. Author Information

The manuscript should include the following information for each author:

  • Full name
  • Institutional affiliation
  • Department or research group, where applicable
  • City and country
  • Email address
  • ORCID iD, where available

The corresponding author should be clearly identified.

5. Abstract

The abstract should provide a concise overview of the manuscript.

For research articles, it should generally describe:

  • Background / Problem
  • Objective
  • Methodology
  • Key Results
  • Conclusion

The abstract should be understandable without requiring the reader to consult the main manuscript.

6. Keywords

Authors should provide 4–8 keywords that represent the main concepts of the manuscript.

Keywords should be specific and relevant to the research topic.

7. Introduction

The Introduction should establish the context and purpose of the research.

It should generally include:

  • Background of the research problem.
  • Relevant research context.
  • Identification of the research gap.
  • Objectives of the study.
  • Main contributions of the work.

8. Related Work / Literature Review

This section should discuss relevant previous research and establish the relationship between existing work and the current study.

Authors should use appropriate and relevant scholarly references and clearly identify the contribution of their work.

9. Methodology

The methodology should provide sufficient information for readers to understand how the research was conducted.

Where applicable, authors should describe:

  • Research methods.
  • Algorithms or models.
  • Datasets.
  • Experimental setup.
  • Hardware and software environments.
  • Evaluation metrics.
  • Statistical or analytical methods.

10. Results

The Results section should clearly present the findings of the research.

Results may be presented using:

  • Tables
  • Figures
  • Graphs
  • Experimental measurements
  • Statistical analysis

Authors should ensure that all presented results are accurate and clearly explained.

11. Discussion

The Discussion should interpret the results and explain their significance.

Authors may discuss:

  • Relationship between findings and previous research.
  • Practical or theoretical implications.
  • Strengths and limitations of the study.
  • Possible reasons for significant findings.
  • Areas requiring further investigation.

12. Figures and Tables

All figures and tables should:

  • Be numbered consecutively.
  • Have descriptive titles or captions.
  • Be referenced in the main text.
  • Be clear and readable.
  • Contain accurate information.
  • Use appropriate units and labels.

Authors should avoid unnecessary duplication of the same information in both figures and tables.

13. Mathematical Equations and Technical Content

Mathematical equations, algorithms, and technical expressions should be presented clearly and consistently.

Symbols and abbreviations should be defined when they are first introduced.

14. Conclusion

The Conclusion should summarize the main findings and contributions of the research.

It should:

  • Relate to the objectives of the study.
  • Highlight the major findings.
  • Identify important implications.
  • Avoid introducing substantial new information.

Future research directions may be included where appropriate.

15. References

Authors should ensure that all cited sources appear in the reference list and that all references listed are cited within the manuscript.

References should be:

  • Relevant to the research.
  • Accurate and complete.
  • Consistently formatted.
  • Cited appropriately throughout the manuscript.

16. Declarations

Where applicable, authors should provide relevant declarations, including:

  • Funding
  • Conflict of Interest
  • Data Availability
  • Ethical Approval
  • Author Contributions
  • Acknowledgements

17. Final Manuscript Check

Before submission, authors should verify that:

☐ The manuscript is complete and properly organized.
☐ The title, abstract, and keywords are included.
☐ All authors and affiliations are correctly listed.
☐ Figures and tables are numbered and cited.
☐ References are complete and consistent.
☐ Required declarations are included.
